Briefly describe your style:

My style includes graphic illustration and an emphasis on line techniques. The medium of ballpoint pen has enabled me to achieve a technical resolution to accomplish a sense of realism that an audience can relate to.

In your Opinion, what roles does art have in society today?

The role of Art is to capture a representative experience of a certain time and place. In contemporary society, Art can be expressed to the audience through a myriad of forms and practices. The recognition of that aesthetic encounter is a prevalent consensus between artist, artwork and audience.

How do you like to spend your free time?

I spend my free time drawing, reading, running and going for afternoon walks with my fiancé and Border Collie Arthur.

What’s your Scariest experience?

My scariest experience would be having a huntsman spider on the inside of my car window while driving.

Describe something that inspires you?

My inspiration is attributed to observing the art practice of other artists and visiting galleries to gain new ideas. I am also inspired by graphic prints that can be found in advertisements, fashion and fine art prints, in particular in the work of Margaret Preston.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?

I have been honored to have many influential mentors in my life and from them I have received imperative advice for my art practice. The best guidance I was given was, “To always ask questions and believe in yourself’.
